7 Airlines That You Should Avoid, According to Seasoned Flyers

Flying used to be a big deal. You’d wear your best suit, stretch your legs, and eat a seven-course meal on fine china in the 1930s. You’ll be lucky to get a bag of pretzels today. On the other hand, flights today are relatively less expensive than they were in the past. However, that hasn’t stopped the internet from voicing its opinion. According to some seasoned flyers on Reddit, these are the ‘worst’ airlines to travel with.

Air Canada

People on Reddit are often criticizing Air Canada, even though it is the main airline in the Great White North. One person said that the airline still owed them $3,000, while others just said bad things about the company without giving much of a reason. Someone wrote, “Air Canada just flat out sucks.”

Air France

Fine art, wine, croissants, and cheap health care are just a few of the things that the French do right. People on Reddit, on the other hand, said bad things about the country’s main airline‘s customer service and dirty planes. One commenter says, “Air France is the worst international airline” because the flight attendant didn’t answer their call light. Another reviewer said, “They make not giving a s*** an art form.” France Air

United

The ASCI does a customer satisfaction poll every year, and United usually comes in about the middle of the pack. They are far ahead of Spirit but behind JetBlue, which is in first place. But many people on Reddit called it the worst airline and said the customer service was dishonest. One commenter says, “I can’t even begin to estimate the number of times that their gate staff and customer service reps lied to my face.” They also say that the company’s unofficial motto is “The customer is the enemy.”

Spirit Airlines

There’s a good chance that Spirit Airlines is the most feared airline in the United States. According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), the basic airline consistently has the least satisfied customers out of nine big carriers. Redditors also didn’t like the plane and shared horror stories about their bad experiences with the Florida-based company. One person says, “My assigned seat was full of puke from the last passenger.” As another user put it, Spirit is “a joke,” and they had to pay $1,000 to get home after their flight was canceled by the low-cost airline.

Frontier

Like Spirit, Frontier is a low-cost airline that Americans really dislike, in part because it makes money by charging fees. “Do you want to choose your own seat?” There is a fee. You can bring both a carry-on and a personal bag. Someone wrote, “There’s a charge.” Others said that the company’s old, crowded planes made them feel like sardines: “I’ve never felt more like a sardine.”

If you’re in Europe, Ryanair is like Spirit and Frontier. It’s like flying, but without the glitz, ease, or customer service! Some critics still fly with the Irish carrier, even though the trips are so cheap.

Aeroflot

It was known as one of the world’s deadliest airlines during the Cold War, with 721 accidents in 44 years. Aeroflot is Russia’s biggest airline. The airline is now thought to be one of the safest in the world, but its bad image will always be there. People who have flown say the service is basic and the flight staff can be rude. In spite of this, the company also has people who support it. One customer who took an Aeroflot trip from Berlin to Moscow said it was the same as “any Western European carrier.”
