Educators and pediatricians in Massachusetts have voiced concerns about the cumulative effects of these chemicals on children’s health. Several consumer advocacy groups are working closely with legislators to build support for reform. If the state moves forward with its proposals, Massachusetts could become one of the first East Coast states to impose restrictions on artificially colored candies. Skittles may be forced off the market temporarily until it complies with any new requirements.
